Nips: Nipples

Ow’t: Anything
Paki: Racist term for someone from Pakistan
Petal: Term of endearment
Povvo: Poor
Prick tease: A girl who flirts with a boy but won’t sleep with him
Put the bins out: Put the trash out
Ruddy: A mild expletive
Shake a leg: A phrase meaning ‘go on and do it’
Shit a brick: A crude exclamation of surprise
Shite: A less rude form of ‘shit’
The Social: Social Club, a venue for entertainment and drinking, usually in a working-class area
Southey Green: A social housing project in Sheffield
Spaccy: Insulting term for someone who is disabled
Speccy: Wears spectacles
Supertram: Tram service in Sheffield
Swotty: A swot, someone who works hard in school
Take the piss: To mock someone
Ta ra: Good-bye
Twenty pee: Twenty pence
Wanker: Insulting term, an idiot
Well jell: Very jealous
Year 11: The top year of an English high school, for kids aged 15 and 16, This is the year that pupils do their first round of important exams; their GCSEs.
